But behind the scenes, MediaMath CEO Neil Nguyen had barely been sleeping, according to three people familiar with the matter.

When advertisers or agencies buy ads through a platform like MediaMath, the adtech company must pay publishers immediately for their ad space.
But the adtech company must wait — often 90 days or more — to be paid by the advertiser or agency.
